Rope Rescue Technician I/II provides an intense, five-day, 40-hour training in rope rescue fundamentals, focusing on high- and low-angle rescue techniques. The course covers skills used in mountain, industrial, and confined space rescues. CMC Rescue has long been recognized as the source on how to use technical rescue equipment and we taught our first contract rope rescue course in 1982. Today's classes reflect all those years of experience in training rescue professionals, providing the highest level of training value for your investment of time and money.
Skills Taught Include: Equipment selection, inspection and maintenance; knots; anchors; patient packaging; mechanical advantage systems; belaying; lowering systems; rappelling; knot passing through rappels, raising and lowering systems; system safety factors; litter rigging and tending; pick-offs; and stretcher evacuations. Practical application is taught through scenarios drawn from actual rescue experience. Be prepared for a lot of information and an intense, hands-on class.
Course Includes: CMC Rescue School Certificate; CMC Rope Rescue Manual; Prusik Cord (for knot-tying practice and use in class); and CMC Rescue School T-Shirt.
Enrollment Requirements: You must be at least 18 years old to attend.
Class Size: Limited to 16 students. We emphasize hands-on, learn by doing instruction and encourage participation by everyone in the class.
